Success stories Argentines pay in Brazil just like at home

kamiPay connected major digital wallets to Brazil’s real-time payment network. The result: millions of instant, secure, borderless purchases.

Through kamiPay’s infrastructure, several Argentine digital wallets enabled their users to pay in Brazil using Pix, the Central Bank’s instant payment system.

This solution allowed thousands of Argentine tourists to make purchases safely, quickly, and seamlessly — as if they were at home. From everyday expenses to higher-value purchases, Pix became a preferred payment method, driven by its favorable exchange rate and broad acceptance across Brazilian merchants.

In January 2025, kamiPay processed over 9 million transactions, with an average daily volume of USD 8 million. This level of adoption reflects not only the importance of Argentine tourism in Brazil, but also Pix’s ability to transform spending behavior.

An analysis of transactional data revealed notable trends: the Apparel category surpassed traditional travel services, accounting for 37% of the turnover among the ten companies with the highest volume in Q4 2024. International brands such as C&A, Adidas, Puma, and Nike ranked among the most popular with Argentine consumers, with an average ticket size of USD 77 in December 2024.

This case demonstrates how kamiPay not only enables real-time cross-border payments, but also provides its partner wallets with valuable insights into Argentine consumer behavior in Brazil — turning payment data into a strategic asset to anticipate trends and enhance user experience.
