According to SINTA (Argentina’s Tourism Information System), more than 430,000 trips were recorded in July 2025 alone — 41% more than in July 2024 and 151% more than in July 2016.
And that traveler arrives increasingly prepared.
In the second edition of the kamiPay Monitor (a study with Netquest covering 1,001 Pix users) we found that, while 71% still activate Pix only once they land in Brazil, 27% already use it before traveling too — for accommodation bookings, transportation, or deposits to service providers.
That’s not a minor detail. Paying before the trip means operating with the recipient’s Pix keys (phone number, email, CPF/CNPJ), not just scanning a QR code at checkout.
The window no longer opens when the tourist sets foot in Brazil — it opens when they’re planning the itinerary. For payment-enabling apps, the challenge is to capture the user beforehand, not wait until they arrive in Brazil.
